Friday 16th October 2009 Extraordinary General Meeting (fixed Agenda: very brief meeting) Followed by:
Amanda J. Simmons—The Art of Kiln Fired Glass
Amanda studied at Westminster College and at Central St Martins College of Art & Design. Using bullseye glass, she produces many unique kiln formed pieces.
Friday 13th November 2009 "The Discovery of Spain" Christopher Baker—Deputy Director of the National Gallery of Scotland
Christopher Baker will talk about curating the exhibition which is showing at the Royal Academy Building in Edinburgh until 11th October. Visit the National Gallery website: www.nationalgalleries.org. This is a marvellous opportunity to hear first hand about the exhibition and especially to gain a unique ‘behind the scenes’ view.

TAS Gibson—Studies with a Pencil and Watercolour
Tas spent his childhood in Kenya where he developed a knowledge and love of wild animals. He trained at Art School in England and has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and at a special exhibition of his work in Stockholm.
Friday 8th January 2010 ( Rescheduled to April) Melville Brotherston—Appreciation of your paintings
Bring your painting or drawing for an appreciation by Melville. As always this popular session is very constructive and Melville has a fine eye for noticing all the good points in a picture—as well as those areas which just possibly might be improved upon....
Friday 12th February 2010 Patti Lean—Working in Abstract
Patti has been painting as a professional artist since graduating from Cumbria College of Art in 2004 and is based at her studio in Dunscore. She paints contemporary abstract and semi abstract work based on landscape and memory.
Friday12th March 2010 Mary Cornwallis—Painting Flowers
These are no tiny dainty watercolour flowers, but huge extravaganzas of vibrant flowers, vegetables, birds and the bees. Mary trained as a botanical artist and works in watercolour and gouache. Over the past ten years she has exhibited internationally and her paintings are extremely popular in the USA.


Friday 9th April 2010 Annual General Meeting followed by Appreciation of your paintings by Melville Brotherston
Details for the Annual General Meeting are being sent out in the Spring Magazine. Please bring one of your paintings and join in the very popular "Crit Evening" which will follow the AGM.
